Admission

Based on the applications submitted, candidates will be selected by the jury to participate at the masterclasses as an active, student or passive participant. If the applicant is not chosen to participate at the Academy, he or she will be put on a reserve list. Unfortunately we have a limited number of places, but in case a selected participant cancels or fails to be present, we will invite the next participant on the reserve list.

Successful applicants will be invited and notified latest on the 1st of June per email. Participants must confirm their participation by email and pay the participation fee within 2 weeks (15th of June). If one fails to do so, the applicant will be automatically excluded from participation. Vacant place(s) will be offered to a candidate(s) selected from the reserve list.

Auditor
Interested audience, musicians etc. can apply to be an auditor during the masterclasses (please send an email to info@jarviacademy.com or conducting(at)parnumusicfestival.ee). Auditors are not participants and therefore not placed on the reserve list, don’t conduct and don’t receive certificates. Auditors have however access to all rehearsals of the Järvi Academy and to concerts of the Pärnu Music Festival.

Participation

ACTIVE PARTICIPANT

Active participants will participate in all activities of the masterclass, including conducting orchestra rehearsals, piano sessions and lectures. Before every academy concert, teachers will choose the participants who will conduct at that concert. Every active participant will conduct the orchestra(s) almost daily supervised by the teachers. The fee for an active participant is 2200 EUR.

STUDENT PARTICIPANT

Student participants take part and are present during all masterclass activities, including sessions with pianos, but will conduct orchestra rehearsals every other day. Student participants will receive several lessons with pianos. The fee for a student participant is 1400 EUR.

PASSIVE PARTICIPANT

Passive Participants take part and be present in all the masterclass activities, but do not conduct in orchestra rehearsals. However, during the sessions with pianos, they will be scheduled to have a lesson with one of the teachers. The fee for a passive participant is 600 EUR.

ALL PARTICIPANTS

All participants need to obtain their own scores, study and prepare them for the masterclass rehearsals and other sessions. All participants will be informed about the final repertoire and/or changes. Organizers reserve the right of radio and television broadcast. Participants are not entitled to demand any charge for the utilization of such recordings or broadcasts.
