TALLINN POLICE WIND BAND BIG BAND, conductor Siim Aimla

The big band of the Tallinn Police Orchestra consists of jazz enthusiasts of the orchestra and has been one of the leaders of big band music of the Estonian music scene since 1992. The ensemble, which has been operating under different names but constantly, can be considered a revivalist of big band music and a lifeguard of it in the newly independent Estonian country. The band is still important today as a populariser of this genre of music and is a springboard for many young Estonian jazz musicians. The big band of the Tallinn Police Orchestra includes jazz musicians known and recognised in Estonian music life, among them Jaak Oserov, Danel Aljo, Ülo Mälgand, Peedu Kass, Roland Karu, Eno Kollom and others.
