Henri Christofer Aavik (conductor) is a laureate of the 5th Yevgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition (2nd prize) and the VIII Jorma Panula International Conducting Competition (1st prize). From the 2024/25 season, he will be the Chief Conductor of the Pärnu City Orchestra. From 2017 to 2019 he was Artistic Director and Conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of the Technische Universität Ilmenau.

He has studied at the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar and currently studies in the Master’s programme of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. He has taken part in masterclasses with Paavo Järvi, Riccardo Muti and others, as well as workshops in modern music with Christof Löser, Steffen Schleiermacher and others. In 2021–23 he held a conducting fellowship in the German Music Council’s Forum Dirigieren. He has conducted many renowned ensembles.
