Supporting the education of young musicians has always been important to the Järvi family, and the Academy has grown to be an essential part of the Pärnu Music Festival, involving more than 150 participants each year.

The Conducting Academy invites 16 selected participants and additionally welcomes students to passsively observe. Led by Paavo, Neeme and Kristjan Järvi together with Leonid Grin, the course commences in Tallinn, before relocating to Pärnu for the festival itself. In addition to daily orchestral masterclasses, individual lessons at the piano and lectures, participants also have the opportunity to conduct the Järvi Academy Sinfonietta in festival concerts.

 

The Instrumental Academy is open to all wind, percussion and string students to apply and welcomes up to 140 young musicians each year. The course commences in Tallinn, before relocating to Pärnu for the festival itself. Students receive 3 individual lessons as well as the chance to play in the Järvi Academy Youth Orchestra opening festival concert, conducted by Neeme Järvi. The course additionally offers lectures and lessons in music phyiology. Teachers include music professors from the world’s leading conservatoires and visiting guest artists.
