Peeter Sarapuu has for the majority of his career worked in the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and has been the principal bassoonist since 2005. As a soloist he debuted with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra in 1986. He has been a member of several orchestras and ensembles, including NYYD Ensemble, YXUS Ensemble, Drottningholm Baroque Orchestra, Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, Opus X Ensemble (Finland), Corelli Consort, Reval Ensemble, The Theatre of Voices (UK), Kesselberg Ensemble (Switzerland) and Melomania (Netherland). He has performed as soloist and chamber musician in many festivals, including “NYYD”, “Maerzmusik Berlin”, “Klangspuren Vienna”, Bruges Festival, “Europamusicale”, Haydn-Festival Vienna, La Folle Journée France and Japan. Over two decades he has taught students at several Finnish educational institutions as well as Tallinn Music High School, Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and in several masterclasses. Since 2010 Peeter has been a Walter-artist and since May 2016 he has been Professor of bassoon at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
