Estonian-born pianist Kärt Ruubel is a passionate chamber musician. In April 2018, she made her debut with her twin sister Triin in the Berlin Philharmonic. The same year, her first solo CD with works by Händel, Bach, Fux and Froberger was released by Genuin Classics; Graham Rickson (The Arts Desk) wrote about it: “Froberger’s tiny Partita No 6 Auff die Maÿerin is irresistible in Ruubel’s hands.” As a chamber musician she has performed in Konzerthaus Berlin, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and in Philharmonie Luxembourg. She has played at several music festivals including Usedomer Musikfestival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Gezeitenkonzerte, Aurora Festival and recorded for BBC 3, the Northern German Broadcasting (NDR) and the Bavarian Broadcasting (BR Klassik). Kärt Ruubel has performed in Germany, Estonia, Sweden, Italy and Switzerland. She is a founding member of the Germany-based Neophon Ensemble for contemporary music. With the ensemble she has toured in Germany, Finland, Estonia and Latvia. As a member of Neophon Ensemble, Kärt has had the opportunity to work with composers such as Jörg Widmann, Peter Ruzicka and Wolfgang Rihm. Kärt Ruubel performed the European debut of the piano concerto Lying in the Grass, River and Cloud s by Marc Sabat. In 2015, she performed the piano concerto Ataraxia by Walter Zimmermann.
